๐บ๐ธ USA SHIPPING UPDATES
From 29 August 2025, the United States applies a flat USD 80 import duty on postal services (e.g. Australia Post handed to USPS) for every parcel, regardless of order value.
To avoid this charge and continue serving our US customers, we have temporarily switched all US orders to DHL Express until Australia Post implements ad valorem systems (where you simply pay postage + tariffs & duties based on order value).
We are actively working with Australia Post to find a more cost effective way to deliver to our US customers, because postal services are generally much cheaper and do not carry the premium price tag of couriers. But until Australia Post and USPS upgrades their system,ย DHL is the only option that avoids the USD 80 flat fee per package.
What This Means for You
Shipping Rates with DHL:
- Up to 500g: USD 25
- 501gโ1kg: USD 30
Import Duties and Fees on Arrival (payable before delivery):
- 10% tariffs
- 2.8% duties
- USD 7โ10 handling fee (DHL collection charge)
Combined, this equals around 12.8 % of the goods value + USD 7-10 in handling fees.
โ ๏ธ Condition of Sale: By placing an order, you accept that you will pay these fees upon arrival in the USA. If you do not pay and the package is abandoned, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds.
Why the Difference Between Postal and Courier
Postal services (Australia Post/USPS): lower base postage costs but now subject to a USD 80 flat fee per package, regardless of order value.
Courier services (DHL, FedEx, UPS): higher base postage but already set up to charge ad valorem duties (percentage of the itemโs value), which is much fairer for lower-value shipments.
For example:
A USD 200 order with DHL = about USD 25 shipping + ~USD 30 in tariffs/duties/fees.
The same order with Australia Post = USD 80 flat fee on top of postage.
